We were very happy overall with our stay. Friendly and courteous at the front desk. Only thing was breakfast room was so hot I feel the waffle maker was messy, dripping on floor and made a lot of excess heat in the small room. Also woman was very slow getting the breakfast items out. But overall, loved the rooms and our stay. We definitely would recommend to friends and want to stay again. Thank you

Since we were visiting from out of state, we didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised with the overall cleaninest of the facility. Our only issue was to eventually find the TV remote under the bed. What we appreciated the most was the proximity to all the amenities. Thank you.

I recommend the Anchor Inn to anyone planning a stay in the area. The hotel is in a convenient location with available free parking. We were greeted by an awesome desk clerk upon late arrival who actually greeted me by name before I could get my ID and credit card out. Our deluxe room was spacious and clean, and the bed was amazing and comfortable and the jacuzzi was perfect at the end of a long day.

Although the building is older, it is well-maintained. The staff was very pleasant and attentive to all our requests. The room was clean, beds firm, AC worked. The Long Island Railroad has a stop about 4 blocks from the hotel so traveling to Midtown was easy (about 30 minute ride). There is also a McDonalds near the LIRR stop which made for a quick breakfast on the way into the city. If you donít require a 5 star, this is a great economical choice for a trip to NYC. (Donít park near the restaurant beside the hotel at night. Some of its patrons exhibit less-than-civilized behavior.)

Overall, I enjoyed the stay at Anchor Inn. The staff is very friendly and helpful, parking is free and plentiful and the location is convenient and safe (close to airport, Queens College & not a bad commute to Manhattan); altogether a good value for the price. This is not a frills hotel, but everything is more than adequate. Prepare to go elsewhere for food, though. Subways & Starbucks are right across from hotel, more ethnic foods just down the street. The only downside was that we were put into a NS room and had requested smoking. They quickly adjusted and put us in another room, but the AC had obviously not been on for quite a while, so room was stifling and reeked of smoke! Hopefully, under normal circumstances in the summer they cool the rooms at least a couple of hours in advance of check-in. Luckily we were going out for the evening and room was pleasant upon our return. That aside, I do recommend the Anchor Inn and would stay there again.

We stayed at the anchor inn while we were getting ready to drop my sister off at the Merchant Marine Academy. The rooms were nice and always clean and the staff helpful. The breakfast could use some improvement. Overall it was very nice though.
